With the current movement of ecumenism, it is no wonder that issues which were once clearly understood has quickly moved into a place of choice. In the media and social circles, we hear about "gay rights" and "equality for gays." Children are being taught that "being gay" is an acceptable choice. Many teenagers experiment and discuss with friends as if it is normal. Even some consider it as the “in thing” to have had an experience. Certain denominations have chose to promote "gay rights." Some 400 clergy in New York have enlisted in the homosexual agenda called "Pride in my Pulpit". They ordain gays to be ministers & leaders of the church. As a result, factions have occurred, churches split and the devoted depart.

1) The stance among those who hold to millenniums of God's Holy dictates are, above all, that homosexuality is a behavior -- something that one does. It is a chosen lifestyle, which is abnormal, unnatural, changeable, abhorred by God, corrupt by nature and/or an addiction. It is caused by a post-pubertal youth deciding to become gay or lesbian, because they were molested as a child or they were subjected to poor parenting.

2) The argument among the most liberal of those who have departed from God's written counsel. They claim that homosexuality is a sexual orientation -- something that one is. It is an uncontrollable orientation that is normal and natural for a minority of adults, fixed, accepted by God, neither a mental disorder nor an addiction.. It is caused by a genetic predisposition towards homosexuality which it triggered in young children by some unknown element in the environment.

It is an essential attribute that all who calls themselves Christians must love all people despite their choices in life. It is possible to love and accept someone, without agreeing with, supporting, or accepting everything they do. Christ did! However, the corrupt heart will only hear discrimination or judgment if anything is said in opposition to the homosexual agenda. They will label it as "hateful homophobia" in defense of free will choice. The challenge comes when reviewing the concise thoughts of God as outlined in Scripture.

"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done." There are many references that dogmatically define this practice to be perverse and the abuse of natural affections. We read here that the "depraved mind" or the "homosexual" has forsaken retaining the knowledge of God. They are in fact in opposition to God and he allows them the freedom of choice but not apart from the penalty. The immediate penalty is always two-fold, the ongoing forfeiture of God's life giving Spirit and the future penalty of eternal separation from God's presence. Depraved impurity cannot coexist with divine purity. God is love and he is also pure holy essense. His shekinah glory would consume a depraved soul. It is liken unto metallurgy, superheated metals are purified by skimming the dross off the top so that the content is pure. Only with God, it is precise and without flaw. The scriptures uses "stubble" for depraved souls. "Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire," says the LORD Almighty. "Not a root or a branch will be left to them. "

In the foremost scripture quote, it is interesting to learn the definition of the word natural. Strong's Number 5446, phusikos {foo-see-kos'} (Greek) Meaning:

• produced by nature, inborn
• agreeable to nature
• governed by (the instincts of) nature

Notice that the word natural means inborn. The ignorant belief about the gay tendency is that the person was born that way, but as we can see from God inspired writing, that this is not correct. God’s breathed Word points out that these people have left what was inborn and natural for something shameful and unnatural. That they will be given over to their depraved state in which blinding of the heart occurs, a belief that they are just and acceptable because they decide it is so.

Those who are unlearned about the content of scripture, it's origin and history will think that the Bible was written in an old dusty monastery somewhere where any ideas about sexuality were always presumed sinful. The Bible, they erroneously think, only condemns sexuality . Quite the opposite is true. In fact, the Bible affirms that human sexuality is a part of humanity as God created it. It is God, not the devil, who put this appetite within us. Sexuality is not basically evil but basically good. The rest of the story, of course, is this: just as God created us with the appetite, so also He placed upon us the stipulations and guidelines for the use of it. Without restraint, like untamed beasts, we have within our depraved nature drives that would not realize any limit if we had not been steeped in some social understanding of self-control. When Christ's Spirit comes in, He "caps" that conflict with a supernatural power that CAN overcome ALL conflicts within. Something that psychology cannot begin to grasp, with its awkward attempts to fix the fallen nature using mankind's crude understanding, tinker with matters that only God's Spirit can remedy.

The sins of our society are not unique to our generation. With this one guideline as its basic assumption, the Scriptures make specific prohibitions of certain activities which are as pertinent to our day as to its own. Both Peter and Jude make reference to it and describe the sin of homosexuality as " ungodly, lawless, unnatural and extreme immorality." &   In Leviticus, homosexuality is described as an "abomination" and "defiling." It is reprehensible and unclean.  Again in Leviticus it is again described as an "abomination" but here as one worthy of the death penalty.  Deuteronomy God forbade the presence of a "sodomite" in the land of Israel.  An incident similar to that of Sodom and Gomorrah is seen again in Judges 19. Again the sin of homosexuality is described as "wickedness." In Romans, the apostle Paul condemns the practice in the severest terms. Homosexuality is "unclean," "impure," "dishonoring to the body," "vile," "degrading / disgraceful," "contrary to nature," "unseemly/ obscene," "improper activity of a depraved mind," "unrighteous," "wicked."  In a letter to the Corinthians, the apostle Paul speaks of homosexuals as "effeminate" and "abusers of themselves with mankind" who "shall not inherit the kingdom of God."  The terms he uses here seem to be specific references to both active and the passive participants in a homosexual relationship. Such people are "unrighteous," he says, and if they remain in that practice they will be separated from God for eternity.

The most recent explanation is that people are just "born that way." Let's think about that. Let's say a man is born a kleptomaniac. Should society give him the freedom to steal? What if a man has a natural tendency toward child abuse? Should it be approved? You see, the question is not that of psychological predisposition. The question is one of morality -- and one of obedience. To practice homosexuality is a choice of the will. Whatever affinity anyone may or may not have for it, to practice it he must choose to do so. Scripture describes it as always wrong, and so to choose to practice it is always sin.

"Born gay." The idea that homosexuality is genetic, or at least biologically predetermined and unchangeable, has received a great amount of media coverage presenting it as "new scientific fact." What is often not known is that this "born gay" idea is not new, not proven, and frequently contradicted by what the researchers actually said. As new research studies were published, the popular press presented these as evidence that people are "born gay" and that sexual orientation is therefore unchangable. What has been quietly happening, though, is that the "science" behind this idea is falling apart.

Dr. Jeffrey Satinover, a medical doctor and former fellow in child psychiatry at Yale University, has taken a thorough look at several studies that backfired on themselves. Upon closer evaluation, this is what he discovered. Simon LeVay, a neuroscientist, studied the brains from 41 corpses, including 6 women, 19 homosexual men, and 16 men presumed to be heterosexual. A small area of the brain, the INAH-3, was similar in size in women and homosexual men, but larger in heterosexual men. He suggested that this might be evidence for an actual structural difference in the brains of gay men. There are, however, numerous problems with this study in which we will not attempt to outline here. The documentation is long and exhaustive. Needless to say, science has not and cannot prove that people are naturally born gay, rather it is a personal choice. Not any surprise to a person steeped in the truth of God, but certainly a problem for those who embrace homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle. The real menace of society is not those who oppose immoral lifestyles but those who condone it and approve it.

Clearly, no solid scientific evidence exists that people are born homosexual. Interestingly enough, genetic predeterminants have also been theorized for alcoholism or depression. Neither alcoholism nor depression is considered healthy or desirable. Rather, we try to help people who suffer from these tendencies to find relief and recovery. Ideally, complete deliverance from these problems.

The same holds true for homosexuality. From conception, males differ from females. Every cell in the male body is different from every cell in the female’s. There are vast disparities between males and females that are currently overlooked by the popular media. But, by design, male was meant for female, and vice versa.

Dr. Joseph Nicolosi, president of the National Association for Research and Treatment of Homosexuality, states, “We are all heterosexual. Some heterosexuals have a homosexual problem, but it does not mean there are two different kinds of people.” As such, the hope for finding freedom from its trap is all the more real. In the words of Stanton Jones, Chair of Psychology at Wheaton College, “Anyone who says there is no hope (for change) is either ignorant or a liar. Every secular study of change has shown some success rate, and persons who testify to substantial healings by God are legendary.”

Another erroneous concept is that what two consenting adults decide to do with each other does not violate any other person. That homosexuality does not force, steal from or corrupt another as would let’s say rape or theft. Such a proponent has no understanding of the spiritual realm. No one sins unto himself or herself, whereas the ripple effect always touches others. We never sin as if on island unto ourselves, it always affects others.

History teaches us that every civilization that fell, previous of the collapse, homosexuality was accepted as a lifestyle choice. A clear marker of a decadent society and those who assist in its failure.

In his book When Nations Die, Jim Nelson Black lists three aspects of decay: social decay, cultural decay, and moral decay. Three important trends demonstrate social decay. They are "the crisis of lawlessness," the "loss of economic discipline," and "rising bureaucracy." In cultural decay, they are the "decline of education," the "weakening of cultural foundations," the "loss of respect for tradition," and the "increase in materialism." In moral decay, there is a the "rise in immorality," the "decay of religious belief," and the "devaluing of human life."

In Greece, the music of the young people became wild and coarse. Popular entertainment was brutal and vulgar. Promiscuity, homosexuality, and drunkenness became a daily part of life. And all moral and social restraints were lost leading to greater decadence. Greece fell in 146 B.C. under Roman conquest. Egypt fell in 333 B.C. under Alexander the Great mirroring identical internal decay as Greece. These are only two examples. The parallels to our own nation are striking.

Paul comments in Romans chapter one about a society that approves of homosexuality. He says that God will "give them over to their reprobate minds." Which means if men stubbornly persist in such activity God will simply leave them to their own devices. As scripture say, God will eventually give up on them; He will stop sending words of truth to them through his genuine servants.  He allows them to continue on their way of destruction. God is the Creator of free will, we can either do it his way or refuse, but we are going to be responsible for ignoring his plea that he promotes in so many ways during our entire life. The disciples were admonished to speak the truth, and if they (their message) was rejected, they were told to "shake the dust off their feet" & as a sign of releasing those darkened in their understanding to their own demise.
